"We were out in the woods and I was climbing up a tree. You got mad because you couldn't reach any of the lower limbs so you ran ahead and started climbing a tree you could reach. The limbs were weaker because they were so much smaller and one snapped..."

He turned away as he exhaled, ashing into an empty can on his bedside table. "You fell and hit your head on a rock. I ran up just in time to see it. Thought you'd killed yourself and started freaking out. I carried you all the way back to the house and yelled for mom." He reminded her, turning back and looking at her before shrugging. "Your knight in shining armor, as always." He laughed.
