Ruby tried to dab at the cut on Poe's cheek but managed to wipe it across his nose when he turned again, telling her for the millionth time that he'd crashed into Jakku.
"Poe, baby, I know you're excited and I love that you finally got to fly a TIE but sit still!" She grabbed his chin and held his face still, finally pressing the damp cloth against his wound. "If your friend is alive, we'll try to find him. But you're no good to him or the Resistance if you get an infection and die."
He smiled at her as she brushed his nose instead of the cut, and stopped moving for a moment. His hand reaching up to take hers and hold it. "It's okay, babe. I'm okay. It's just a scratch." A deep enough cut to form a scar, sure.
"It was just a little brain damage and a crash. I've had worse."
Poe, seriously, is that how you want to word that?
Ruby's whole face goes pale and her brow furrows. She even goes as far as to step back from him to stare at him as if he'd grown a second head.
"Seriously? Seriously?! Just a little brain damage? Poe, you could have been killed!"
Only Poe would get captured by the First Order and fall out of the sky and say he's had worse. It was part of the reason she'd fallen for him in the first place.
Honestly, it was amazing she wasn't grey from the stress.
Ruby patted gently at the wound until she was comfortable it was clean enough that she could dress it properly and apply the necessary salves to keep any infection at bay.
"I know. And the fact that you didn't run is part of why I love you but Poe, no more jokes about you dying on me, yeah?" She runs her hand into his hair and down his cheek to cup his face. Almost as if she could read his mind, she smiles softly. "And we'll find BB-8, okay?"
He did his best to sit still now, trying not to upset Ruby and more than he had already done so.
"I'm making no jokes. Promise." he said, and closed his eyes as she ran her hand through his hair and down his jaw, holding his poor head a moment. It was like she read his mind, but she did that a lot with him. Especially on this. He frowned softly, speaking fainter now. Between just her and he.
"Good! You're going to be the death of my, Poe Dameron. So much stress. I'm actually going grey." Cupping his jaw is easy and so is pressing a kiss to his forehead. She loves him so much and there's always the risk of dying but when it comes so close, it's even harder to deal with.
"Sorry, sorry." he said softly back to her, knowing he was going to drive her up a damn wall. This is what she gets for dating a pilot though. "You'd look good with grey hair though." He said with a cheeky wink as she kissed his forehead.
A sad soft smile, and he gave a faint nod. "I know. I wont stop looking for him, even if he didn't have important information in him."
"Of course I would. I look good in anything." She smiles and kisses his forehead and then his lips. And then she returns to patching up his face. They're low on Bacta so she doesn't use any -it's not too serious of an injury- but she does stick a small bandage over it to keep it clean and then kisses that too.
"I know, baby. But if he's still on Jakku, we'll find him. We know the First Order aren't there anymore and if they had him, they wouldn't..." Have kept Poe alive. But she doesn't say that. She just smiles sadly at him as well. "We'll find him."

"Look, they attacked that village. I couldn't just run." but now BB-8 was missing and his heart hurt more for that then his own head hurt.
